B&B TENUTA DON PAOLINO
Hi, I’m Paolo Tiberio and I run the B&B Tenuta Don Paolino, which is owned by my family. I’m a freelance architect and in 2010 I looked after the renovations. Here you’ll be able to read a book under the shade of an olive tree, immersed in the smells, sounds and colours of the Sicilian countryside; you’ll be within minutes reach of beautiful historic cities, beaches bathed by Ionian sea, with their suggestive tropical scenery; and at night, you’ll be able to come home to rest in an enchanting and relaxing place.
I look forward to your visit.
Tenuta Don Paolino
This is the perfect place to spend days doing nothing but relaxing, far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, immersed in the Mediterranean countryside. The estate is bounded by green on all sides, encircled by a vast lemon grove, ideal for those who love nature and tranquillity.
The property is comprised of five en-suite double bedrooms, all equipped with air-conditioning, heating and TV. The Sicilian climate, the comfortable rooms, and its amazing setting – close to the cultural, architectural and natural points of interest, including well known UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and the beaches of the natural oasis of Vendicari – will all make you fall in love with this place.
Infiorata of Noto
An off-grade because it is an event that takes place only once a year on the third Sunday of May. Therefore it is not always “visitable” … It is one of the most well-known netine events and one of the most important events in Sicily. This is not a manifestation of a religious nature, but of the “Greeting to the Spring”. A succession of “canvases painted with flowers” in the most fascinating street of the city! Last year the exhibition theme was “welcome catalog” – A tribute to Spain
Marzamemi where time has stopped
The village was born around the landing, then became a fishing port, and has developed thanks to this last activity, still practiced today, also endowing itself with a Tonnara, one of the most important in Sicily. The tonnara of Marzamemi dates back to the time of the domination of the Arabs in Sicily. In 1630 it was sold by the owner to the Prince of Villadorata. The Villadorata strengthened the tonnara buildings bringing the skilled carpenters from Avola and Syracuse, who then resided in Marzamemi.
The Cathedral of Noto city
The Cathedral of San Nicolò is the main center of worship and historically the most important of the city of Noto. A baroque jewel of the 18th century, subject to numerous reconstructions and renovations over the centuries, up to the current structure with the construction of the Dome in the 19th century by Cassone. You will surely be amazed by the beauty and grandeur of this cathedral, which seems to dominate the entire historic center of Noto!
